TOUR THE SHORE MULTI-DESTINATION LAKE ERIE GETAWAY

Visitors’ Bureaus Work Together to Promote Lake

LAKE ERIE SHORES & ISLANDS, OHIO, March 16, 2017 — Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands is proud to join six other coastal visitors’ bureaus to promote tourism along Ohio’s lake shore. This is the first time all seven destination marketing organizations have collaborated on such a promotion. Deemed “Tour the Shore,” this partnership is sponsoring a giveaway of a seven-day, seven-night Lake Erie experience for two.

The prize itinerary is one that can be followed by visitors to Ohio’s Lake Erie coast as a taste of all that each shoreline destination has to offer. The getaway begins in Ashtabula County with a tour of several wineries and continues in Lake County with a hike at the famed Holden Arboretum and an evening ball game with the Cleveland Indians’ minor league affiliate, the Lake County Captains. On day three, venture west to the heart of downtown Cleveland with a visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and an evening out at the East 4th Street entertainment district and dinner at Chef Michael Symon’s Lola. Next, enjoy zip-lining over the Vermilion River Valley in Lorain County with Common Ground Canopy Tours.

On day five the tour reaches Lake Erie Shores & Islands. Here, ferry away to explore Ohio’s most popular island resort destination, Put-in-Bay, by golf cart. Round out a tour of the shore with a visit to the R.B. Hayes Presidential Library and Museum in Sandusky County as well as a bottle-your-own-wine experience at Ski Lodge Winery. Finish the journey with Destination Toledo and a day at the world-renowned Toledo Zoo followed by a recreational retreat at Maumee Bay Resort & Conference Center.

As part of this giveaway, one lucky winner will receive overnight accommodations and tickets to area attractions at a new location each day beginning June 1, 2017. Some meals are also included. For a list of prize and contest details and to enter visit TourTheShore.net. One winner will be chosen at random on May 1, 2017.
