Friends of Medina County Parks is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting Medina County Park District through volunteerism and fundraising. Over the park district’s 52-year history, Friends of Medina County Parks has been instrumental in helping acquire and enhance land for parks — including the popular Carolyn Ludwig Mugrage Park in Granger Township, opened in 2013. One of the group’s major impacts is through its funding of the Connecting Children and Nature Grant, which provides transportation cost assistance to school groups wishing to travel to the Wolf Creek Environmental Center for field studies — helping connect more than 5,000 children with nature every year.
