Rabbit Run Theater opens the summer season with ‘Forever Plaid”

MADISON, OH – Rabbit Run Theater opens the 2019 summer season with the musical revue “Forever Plaid”.

“Forever Plaid” was originally written, directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross and originally produced by Gene Wolsk with musical arrangements by James Raitt.

Once upon a time, four young men, Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie all shared a love for music. Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge’s family’s plumbing supply company, they became ‘Forever Plaid”. This musical revue is full of 1950’s pop songs performed with barbershop quartet harmony.

“Forever Plaid” is directed by Ann Hedger, programming coordinator at The Fine Arts Association in Willoughby. Hedger has been associated with Rabbit Run since the 1980’s as an actor and director.

“This show has been a labor of love,” says Hedger. “It takes me back to my childhood with my dad, who listened and shared the music of the 50’s with his kids. Having the opportunity to share this wonderful music with Rabbit Run’s audiences is truly special.”

“The four “Plaids” in our cast are wonderful, each bringing their own special spin on these characters. It’s not just a musical review. It is a journey of love for life, passion for music and friendship told through this array of memorable songs.”

Musical direction is provided by Danielle Jones with choreography by Hannah Green.

Playing the four Plaids are Josh Dean as Frankie, Nick Grimsic as Sparky, Arthur Marshall as Smudge and Everett Walker as Jinx.

“Forever Plaid” opens Friday, May 31, and runs through Saturday, June 15, and is rated for general audiences suitable for family entertainment.

Tickets for all performances are available by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, Wednesday through Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. or on line at www.rabbitrunonline.org. Tickets are $24, adult; $22, senior and student; and $11 for youth 12 and under. For group packages and rates call 440-428-5913.
