Since springtime is now finally in evidence, we begin to think about Mother’s Day and how to honor our moms, grandmothers, favorite aunties, sisters. This year’s Mother’s Day Breakfast Tea will celebrate these “queens for the day” with a special breakfast tea at the Hower House Museum, set for Saturday, May 11, beginning at 10 am.
Our talented tea chairs have been hard at work planning another wonderful menu for our guests. This will be an elegant catered breakfast with a delectable array of savories, sweets, and teas.
The cost for this event will be $34 for adults, $23 for children ages 8-12. This price includes the delicious tea fare served by our committee volunteers, a self-guided tour of the Mansion, and opportunity to shop in the Cellar Door Store. (Please note that our spring mini-exhibit will be on view: Unspoken: Objects of Communication in the Victorian Age, which explores the language of fans and flowers.)
Prepaid reservations are due by May 3; when calling to make your reservation, please indicate if you or anyone in your party has any food allergies. Reservations may be made by calling the Hower House Museum at 330.972.6909.
For public tour times that day, we will offer a delayed opening so that our guests will not feel rushed. We will open the doors for public tours at 1 p.m. that day to offer free self-guided tours to all moms/grandmothers.
