COLUMBIANA COUNTY (NE OH)
STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL/Winona Sesquicentennial Celebration

Winona’s Annual Strawberry Festival will feature something special this year – a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the town’s founding! The festival on Sunday, June 23rd, will be held at the corner of Winona Road and Cameron Street in downtown Winona. Beginning at 11:30, events include flax scutching demonstrations revived from 1939-1941 and 1979-2000 scutching festivals, a display of handmade signature quilts sold during those years, historical displays by local organizations, dulcimer players and more. Among popular food items will be barbecued chicken, sandwiches, sides, homemade ice cream and pies and strawberries. At 2:00, Kiko Auctions will sell goods donated by local residents and businesses. A hand-stitched quilt depicting the 1838 meeting house/museum will be the featured offering. The day’s activities will conclude at the end of the auction. The Winona Area Historical Society is planning the celebration, and proceeds will support its museum programs and the 2 meeting houses and grounds where the event is being held.

The annual Wooster Kiwanis Club Strawberry Social will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 4:30-8:30 p.m. at the main pavilion in Christmas Run Park. Join us for wonderful ice cream, cake, and, of course, strawberries. Bring the kids and let them play in the creek or on the Christmas Run Kiwanis Playground.
Concession stands will be on site for purchases.
Tickets for the Strawberry Social are $5. We look forward to seeing you at this annual community event.
