Loudonville, Ohio – A beautiful outdoor setting, live music, 75 varieties of beer, food and more could only mean one thing. Oktoberfest has returned to Mohican! The Friends of Wolf Creek Grist Mill will host the largest fundraising event of the year on Saturday, September 24th, from noon until 10:00pm. This incredible fundraiser is full of food, raffles, beer, wine, games and entertainment.

Mark Smith, President of Friends of Wolf Creek Grist Mill, states, “Oktoberfest for The Mill fundraiser has become such a popular event because unlike many Oktoberfest’s that only offer a limited selection of beer, we offer around 75 beers for this event. There’s truly something for everyone to enjoy. Patrons love being able to sample any variety we offer so they can experience many different beers without having to commit to an entire glass or bottle of something they’ve never had before.”

For a $5.00 entry fee, each person that is 21 years old and over, has the opportunity to taste beers that range from seasonal selections, craft beers, local selections to include nearby craft brewers, international selections, ciders, gluten-free choices, draft and bottle selections.

With safety being top of mind, guests staying at the following sponsors will be offered free busing to and from the event from 2 – 11pm: Mohican Adventures, Mohican State Park Campground, Red Window Townhouse, Hemlock Inn, Arrow Point Campgrounds, and River Run Campground. Please note we will no longer stop at Wally World Resort due to the Wally Rd Spellacy Bridge project. For those who live a little closer, a downtown Loudonville stop has been added to the shuttle service. The Ontario Cab Company will be onsite offering $5 per person rides within a 10 mile radius (including Mohican Lodge). First come first served, please call them directly to arrange your transportation 567-560-5228. For more information on how to contact these sponsors for an overnight stay, visit DiscoverMohican.com.

Grab something to eat and drink and enjoy Tom’s Kitchen Table in the afternoon, then The Rutherford County Band later in the day. Games and more await at Oktoberfest. The Televised Ohio State Football Game will also be played on the big screen.

This is Wolf Creek Grist Mill’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Smith states, “Oktoberfest provides the opportunity for our visitors to enjoy a unique area event that at the same time helps us raise awareness, appreciation and funds for the project. Most importantly, every penny earned goes right back into funding the preservation and restoration efforts at Wolf Creek Grist Mill Historic Park and Museum to ensure this wonderful piece of history will be around for generations to come.”

Visit wolfcreekmill.org for more information on this event and how to help preserve this wonderful piece of Ohio’s history.
