Crime fighters, princesses, comic book characters, warlocks and mummies are invited to explore “Lake Eerie” and the “deep boo sea” at Pumpkins & Piranhas Tuesday – Friday, October 25 – 28 from 10am – 7pm (last admission at 6pm). Guests of all ages are welcomed to get into the spirit for this warm, indoor and not-so-spooky Aquarium experience. (We just ask costumes be family friendly and provide an adequate field of vision.)

The SEA-sonal fun days are included with general Aquarium admission ($19.95 ages 13+, $13.95 ages 2-12, $0 Passholders and guests younger than 2) and feature extended hours, underwater jack-o-lanterns, costumed SCUBA divers, themed décor, a take-home treat bag for costumed kiddos, and a visit activity booklet focused on a few misunderstood animals.

Hoot like an owl, howl like a coyote, and hoof it over to the Museum! Once a single-day celebration, Owls & Howls will now span an entire weekend—the evening of Friday, October 28, and all day Saturday, October 29, and Sunday, October 30. Guests of all ages are invited to wear costumes and participate in a range of activities and presentations celebrating Ohio’s native animals, including decorating pumpkins that will be shared with the Museum’s animal ambassadors, making dino masks, taking spooky photos in the photo booth, and enjoying special wildlife demonstrations in the Ralph Perkins II Wildlife Center & Woods Garden.

The Oak Harbor Apple Festival is held each year in downtown Oak Harbor the second full weekend in October. There are over 25,000 annual visitors and all activities are located within a two block walking area. Come see the crowning of our Royalty Court at opening ceremonies Saturday at 9:30am, followed by baby contest, the Grand Parade at 2:00pm, Cornhole tournament, talent show and “The Junk” in the beer tent to round out the day’s entertainment. Sunday is chuck full of fun as well, with the Classic Car Show, 5K Run, Kids 1 Mile Fun Run, and local performers to make for a day of pure enjoyment! There is also a Beer Garden, mechanical rides and over 130 vendors. No admission fees and a shuttle runs from the high school parking lot for $1.00 per person.
