Fall Fun on the Rails
One of our favorite ways to view Ohio’s beautiful fall foliage is from a train. This fall, many of Ohio’s trains are offering fall foliage tours and events, as well as special Halloween train rides. To learn more visit each train’s website for details and ticket information.

FALL FOLIAGE TRAIN RIDE – 2024 update
“Each Thursday and Friday between Oct. 1 and 25, one train each day departs the Nelsonville Depot at 1 p.m. for a roundtrip ride to East Logan. The coaches are heated as weather requires, but we also have our open-air cars on the train as well. These trains provide a unique way to experience the fall colors throughout the month of October!”
NELSONVILLE HALLOWEEN TRAIN – 2024 update
“Join HVSR on the Halloween Train, departing the Nelsonville Depot at 6 p.m. on Oct. 26. The ride will traverse the Hocking River Valley as many trains have done since the late 1860s.
Dress your kids up and have a fun evening out with the family! Parents can dress up, too, but costumes must be appropriate for all ages! Treats will also be available after the ride!”
