One of our favorite ways to view Ohio’s beautiful fall foliage is from a train. This fall, many of Ohio’s trains are offering fall foliage tours and events, as well as special Halloween train rides. To learn more visit each train’s website for details and ticket information.

ATHENS COUNTY (NE OH)

HOCKING VALLEY SCENIC RAILWAY
All rides depart from the Nelsonville Depot, located at 33 W. Canal Street along Business U.S. Route 33 in Nelsonville, Ohio.

FALL FOLIAGE TRAIN RIDE
Experience the beautiful fall colors in Nelsonville, Ohio on the fall foliage train ride! Sit back and relax in the heated train and enjoy the changing colors of the leaves! Each Thursday and Friday between October 1st and 31st, one train each day departs the Nelsonville Depot at 1 p.m. for a roundtrip ride to East Logan. The coaches are heated as weather requires, but we also have both of our open-air cars on the train as well. These trains provide a unique way to experience the fall colors throughout the month of October!

NELSONVILLE HALLOWEEN TRAIN
Join us on the Trunk-or-Treat Train! Treats are available and costumes are encouraged! This Halloween train ride is great for all ages, so plan your costume and join us soon!
