Climb aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad’s flagship train! The National Park Scenic excursion is the best way to see the length of Cuyahoga Valley National Park from a one-of-a-kind vantage point.

Sit back as the train weaves through Cuyahoga Valley along the rushing Cuyahoga River. Passengers may catch a glimpse of CVNP’s variety of wildlife including an eagle’s nest, deer, blue heron and other natural habitats. Traces of the Valley’s industrial history, such as the Ohio & Erie Canal can also be seen.

Over 70 years of railroading history can be found on display and operating at one of the oldest railroad museums in the country. With steam, electric, and diesel equipment, experience how trains and railroads played a major role in the history of Ohio.

2022: Open every Sunday from May through December.
Rides are scheduled every Sunday for 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 PM.

Admission rates are $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+) and military (with ID, please), $7 for kids ages 4 to 12, and any kids ages 3 and under are free. (admission rates and times may change during ORM special events.)

Admission includes access to the museum depot display building, gift shop, and outdoor grounds, plus, you can ride the train on any or all departures on the day of your visit!!

The Western Reserve Railroad Association (dba The Painesville Railroad Museum) is dedicated to the restoration of the NYC Painesville Depot, preserving railroad history and promoting model railroading.

Hobo Day at the Painesville Railroad Museum
Sunday, July 9, 2022 from 10 am to 5 pm.
We will have a Hobo Hobo Beans, Hamburg’s and Hot Dogs, Corn Roast, Chips and Ice Cream. Food Donations extra.

Come in the spirit of the day and get in Costume and be part of our Costume Contest. Barbara Hacha, author of ‘Line by Line, Mulligan Stew (Stories and Traditions of American Hobos), and Sidetracks’, will be joining us and talk about Hobo life and will be doing book signing.

Admission: Free, Donation is accepted and appreciated.

We will also have a Model Train Flea Market. Many new items have been added thanks to recent donations.

The Mad River & NKP Railroad museum is a lasting bicentennial project. NKP is the AAR reporting mark for the Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad Company) which ran through Bellevue from 1882 until 1964 when it merged with the Norfolk & Western Railway.
