Holiday shopping around Ohio.
Every year I receive numerous requests wanting suggestions of places to shop around Ohio for the holidays. Many are just looking for a fun shopping day out with family and friends. Mini one-day trips. This year I would like to share a few of my favorite places to find holiday decorations and unique gift items, along with a few #MyOhioFun Road Trip notes. Happy shopping!
PINE TREE BARN
4374 Shreve Rd, Wooster, OH 44691 | pinetreebarn.com
Located just on the outskirts of Downtown Wooster, Pine Tree Barn offers home furnishings, beautiful holiday decorations and ornaments, and yes even a tree farm.
A visit to Pine Tree Barn would not be complete without enjoying time in their Granary Restaurant. The perfect place to enjoy a respite from the days shopping. The restaurant offers a nice selection of choices including French Onion Soup, a Black & Bleu Steak Salad, crepes, flatbread pizzas, pasta, and my absolute favorite combination, a slice of the days quiche alongside a portion of their spinach salad with warm bacon dressing. Make sure you leave room for one of their famous Lemon Crumb Muffins!
Lehman’s
4779 Kidron Rd., Dalton, OH 44618 | 800.438.5346 | website
Every holiday season I always make sure to stop at Lehman’s in Kidron for any kitchen utensils or baking pans I may need for holiday baking. I also enjoy their lantern section. They make the perfect gift and a great way to add a warm holiday glow to your home. A stop at Lehman’s would not be complete until you check out the retro soda pop department. #GrapeNehi Word to the wise. Allow time to shop all the departments including the holiday department.
Have you checked out my Ice Box Butter Ring recipe s on Lehman’s Blog? I was so honored to be asked to share its story. Click here to read more.

CASTLE NOEL
260 S. Court Street, Medina, OH 44256 | 330.721.NOEL (6635) | castlenoel.com
For some of us it just wouldn’t be the holiday season until we have enjoyed a bit of punch in our National Lampoon Christmas Vacation moose mug. If you or someone on your holiday list is a fan of Christmas movies, then a stop at Castle Noel in Medina, Ohio should be on your to do list. From moose mugs to “A Christmas Story” movie ornaments, the museum shop offers a wonderful selection of items, including special designed ornaments and sculptures by Mark Klaus.
Leave time in your shopping day to tour Castle Noel. Wow at all the toys through the years and slide down the famous Christmas Story slide. Then take a picture next to Cousin Eddie’s trailer that was featured in the National Lampoon Christmas Vacation movie. Be amazed by the beautiful New York window displays.
My Ohio Fun Road Trip notes:
Another great place to shop in Medina is the A.I. Root Candle Company Store. For over 150 years, this candle company with it’s rich history in the beekeeping industry, still fills all their candles with an all-natural beeswax blend. The company store offers a wonderful selection of scented candles. I always stock up on their various sizes of dinner candles. Don’t forget to check the outlet store around the corner. You never know what bargains you will find there.
