Come dressed as a prince, princess or frog and warm up in The RainForest where it’s always 80 degrees! Enjoy crafts in our Lily Pad Lounge with the Fairy Godmother, and get-close encounters with live frogs. Guests will have the opportunity to meet their fairy tale favorites and attend a dance party with one of the princesses! Children 11 and under receive FREE admission to the Zoo & The RainForest with a paid adult admission. FREE for all Cleveland Zoo Society members.

The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage opens its doors at no-cost for Presidents’ Day, with crafts and activities, exhibition tours, and a chance to “Meet the Presidents.” The FREE event will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 11AM to 5PM, with special presentation “Meet the Presidents” from 1PM to 2PM, followed by photo opportunities with the presidents, at the Museum (2929 Richmond Road in Beachwood, OH; Registrations encouraged: 216-593-0575 or www.maltzmuseum.org).

Free indoor and outdoor activities with a Winter Olympic theme. Travel from station to station, both inside and outside, and record your speed and distance on the various events. As they progress, they can compare their stats to common native Ohio wildlife. 

Enjoy scavenger hunts, a nature craft, s’mores, X-Plorer packs filled with seasonal hands-on activities, animal encounters from the Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center and much more! Naturalists will be on hand to answer all of your nature-related questions and to help guide you through the day.

February 20 is Presidents Day, and what better way to celebrate than visiting a presidential home? James A. Garfield NHS will be open for tours of the Garfield home, presidential trivia, kids’ activities, crafts, and more! We might even get a visit from a president or two! The Site will be free of charge today, so come out, learn, and enjoy at the home of Mentor, Ohio’s favorite son: President James A. Garfield!

 


Medina Ice Festival

Enjoy four days of frozen fun as one of Medina’s favorite events returns to the historic Medina Square. Over 50 sponsored carvings will be on view starting Friday afternoon and through Monday afternoon.

Each day, more works of frozen art are added to the Square during the competitions. Visit during the day and see the carving take place. Visit during the night, and see each sculpture illuminated with multi-colored LED lights. It’s a magical time to walk through the Square.

Hold a piece of presidential history, take a horse-drawn sleigh or trolley ride and meet some of your legislators during Presidents’ Day activities on Monday, Feb. 19, at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.

The Hayes Presidential Library & Museums will have a variety of activities from noon to 5 p.m. Admission rates to the home and museum also will be discounted for the holiday.

On Monday, February 19 the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum will celebrate President’s Day with activities throughout the day. There will be McKinley Gallery focus tours celebrating Canton’s own President William McKinley at 11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. Meet and greet President McKinley at 12:00 PM & 2:00 PM.

There will also be planetarium shorts running throughout the day. In Discover World experience exciting animal and science shows.

There is fun for the whole family at the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum!
