“A Gentleman’s Guide” opens at Rabbit Run Theater

Aug. 12 and runs through Aug. 27, 2022. 

Low-born Englishman Monty Navarro is eighth in line for an earldom in the high-born D’Ysquity family. Armed with charm and a dash of murder, Monty must figure out how to knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught to become the ninth Earl of Highhurst. But murder is not the only thing on Monty’s mind; enter, not one but two, beautiful young women, Sibella and Phoebe.

“A Gentleman’s Guide” opens at Rabbit Run TheaterThe show is directed by Brint Learned, executive director at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association (RRCAA). With over 30 years’ experience, Learned has acted and directed at area theaters, including The Fine Arts Association, Rabbit Run Theater, Lake Erie College, The Beck Center, Lakeland Civic Theatre and Ashtabula Arts Center.

Musical direction is provided by Jonathan Gordon, who previously musically directed “Always . . . Patsy Cline” and “Daddy Long Legs” at Rabbit Run Theater.

The lead male role, Monty, is played by Eric Mortensen, who most recently played the role of Thomas Andrews in Rabbit Run’s production of “Titanic, the Musical” earlier this summer.

Haley Gagnon-Luster plays Monty’s love interest, Sibella, while Sarah Gordon portrays Monty’s other love interest, Phoebe D’Ysquith. J J Luster plays a number of roles encompassing the entire D’Ysquith family.

Tickets for all performances are available by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, Wednesday through Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. or on line at www.rabbitrun.org. Tickets are $27, adult; $25, senior and student; and $13 for youth 12 and under.

The show is rated 13+ for content. All shows for “A Gentleman’s Guide” begin at 7:30 p.m. Rabbit Run Theater is located at 5648 W. Chapel Rd., Madison, OH.

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic meal to enjoy on the grounds of the theater prior to a show in the picnic pavilion or courtyards.

While at the theater patrons have the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket for Bunny Bucks Cash Raffle, RRCAA’s annual fundraiser.

The Grand Prize is $10,000; second place prize is $4,000, and the third place prize is $1,000. Twenty-two additional Bonus Prizes, each with a value of at least $100, are being awarded weekly through Aug. 22.

Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $50 each. The cash prizes will be announced Aug. 27. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, the RRCAA office at 440-428-5913 or online at rabbitrun.org.

Rabbit Run Theater is one of the few barn theaters still in operation and operates under the auspices of RRCAA, a non-profit organization offering year-round instruction in all the major disciplines of the fine and performing arts.
