Inn at Brandywine Falls

A snip of history:

This historic Greek Revival home was built in 1848,  and was originally the home of James and Adeline Wallace. The property is listed on the National Register of  Historic Homes.

In 1988, Innkeepers George & Katie Hoy, after obtaining a lease from the National Park Service and after making necessary renovations to the home, officially opened their charming and historic Inn to guest from around the world.  To delight of thousands of guests, the Inn truly became their home away from home.  In 2018, George left this world leaving Katie to run the Inn along with her staff until new Innkeeper(s) could be found.

Earlier this year, the Inn welcomed its newest Innkeepers, Melanie and Vicki.  Although, George and Katie will always be remembered as the most gracious Innkeepers, I am happy to report that George and Katie have left the Inn in wonderful, loving hands.

(Katie can still be spotted around the Inn from time to time.)

Time to enjoy tea!

Being a lover of tea, I could not wait to snag one of the holiday pop up tea reservations to enjoy with a friend. Upon our arrival we were welcomed by both Innkeepers, followed by Vicki sharing a quick and informative bit of Inn history.

Tea is served in the dining room or the library. (If you have a room preference.)

Our tea consisted of a delicious cup of soup, a delightful salad, tiered tray of tea sandwiches, a fruit cup and scones, as well as jam and clotted cream.  And if that was not enough food, we were also treated to a plate sweets.  (I needed a to-go box.)

Looking to getaway from the hustle and bustle? The Inn offers all the comforts of home. There are three suites available in the main house, including the James Wallace’s Parlor (pictured above), which is located on the 1st floor. The Granary Suite and Loft Suite are located in the Carriage Barn. Just behind the home. A plated breakfast is available every morning in the Dining Room from 8am-9am, or for an additional charge breakfast can be served in your room.

The Inn is located adjacent to Brandywine Falls and within a few feet of walking trails.  A quick hop on the freeway and you can visit the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, as well as numerous northeast Ohio attractions.  The Inn is very centrally located and best of all its located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, where you can enjoy a train ride, hiking, seasonal concerts, markets and so much more.

But the best reason to stay at the Inn, is the total relaxation you will feel, listening to the waterfall in the distance.
