There is no store in Ohio quite like Lehman’s Hardware.

From housewares to garden tools to oil lamps, toys, snacks and sweets, to Amish made products, and more. You are going to want to make sure you allow plenty of time to shop all the different departments.

Enjoy seasonal soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts at the Lehman’s Cafe. The cafe is located in the middle of the store.

A few holiday gift ideas:
– Let Lehman’s help you make a gift basket filled with some of their pantry favorites.
– For the new homeowner, an oil lamp is always welcome.
– Give a garden decoration or bird feeder.
– For the baker, homesteader in the family, there are plenty of items to add to their kitchen.
– Gift certificates also work!

Make sure your check out the old-time soda pop section. Nothing like a cold Grape Nehi or Frosty Rootbeer for the road! They also make great stocking gifts.

Ashery Country Store

3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

ASHERY COUNTRY STORE
8922 OH-241, Fredericksburg, OH 44627
330.359.5615 | asherycountrystore.com

One of my favorite bulk food stops in Amish Country.  Ashery’s is my go to stop for bulk spices and baking supplies. You will be amazed by there selection of bulk candies.  If you like pimento cheese spread, make sure you grab a container of their made in house spread. Samples are available. Don’t forget to grab a tub of lard if you are planning on making any pie crusts.  At the deli you can order sandwiches to go.  I always order a pound of their bacon, thinly sliced.  The thinly sliced bacon cooks up fast and crisp and is perfect to use as a topping on baked potatoes, salads or soup. If you like peanut butter their freshly ground peanut butter and cashew spread prices are always a bargain.

July is also a great time to start filling your pantry with those holiday baking supplies.

Tip: Public restrooms available.
Handicapped accessible.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

  1. To make the most of your day, I would suggest you arrive at Smucker’s by 9am.
  2. Bring cash. Some establishments only accept cash as well as roadside farm stands.
  3. Pack a cooler for any perishables you may buy along the way.
  4. Cell phones reception may be spotty in spots. If you are afraid of getting lost, most stops in Amish country will have visitor racks filled with brochures and area maps.
  5. Be careful when going over hills. If you can not see the road ahead, please do not pass.  There may be buggy’s, bicyclist or walkers on the same road and not visible over the ridge.
  6. Many of the Amish do not like their pictures taken. Please be respective.
  7. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
  8. Plan ahead and download or order your FREE Ohio Amish Country visitor guide.
