THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride Tickets Go on Sale to CVSR Members September 22
Half the Number of Tickets Will be Available This Year
VALLEY VIEW, OH, September 18, 2020 — THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train ride, presented by Countertop Solutions, is returning to the Cuyahoga Valley for the 27th consecutive year. Tickets for this annual event go on sale to Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) members on Tuesday, September 22 and non-members October 14.
THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is one of Northeast Ohio’s most popular holiday events with tickets selling out every year. This year the event is expected to do the same. Due to Covid-19, CVSR is operating with more stringent safety practices and procedures including operating at 50% capacity.
“Since we’ve announced the resumption of our train rides on October 1, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” said CVSR President & CEO Joe Mazur. “This year membership is more important to gain early access to THE POLAR EXPRESS™ tickets because our reduced capacity.”
Last year CVSR sold out this event with more than 46,000 tickets. This year the organization will be selling half that amount and is expecting to sell out by the end of the day on October 14 when tickets go on sale to the general public.
“Due to cancellation of our trains ride this year and running 50% capacity for the remainder of the year, a large portion of the income it takes to operate our aging fleet has been lost,” said Mazur. “In addition to early access to tickets, membership makes it possible to keep our trains on the tracks.”
