Lake Metroparks Farmpark’s Fall Harvest Weekends

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays
September 25 — October 18

This fall, Lake Metroparks Farmpark will continue the tradition of celebrating the harvest season with four weekends including Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning September 25 and continuing through October 18. Each weekend will have a different focus on some aspects of farming and harvest along with our regularly-scheduled activities and demonstrations as well as music and Farmpark’s famous apple slushie.

At Farmpark’s Fall Harvest Weekends, visitors can participate in many traditional harvest activities. On all of these weekends, visitors will be able to see apple processing, farm animals, and other harvest activities. The whole family can explore our three-acre corn maze. Farmpark’s hours are 9 am to 5 pm.

September 25 through 27 is Apple Butter & Cider Weekend, where you can learn how to prepare apples, make cider and apple butter, and take a tour on the “Johnny Apple Seed Trail.”

On October 2 through 4, Farmpark features the power of the horse and tractor with Horsepower Weekend. You can see how horses are used for farming and discover how tractors improved farming over the years. You can also get your picture taken on one of Farmpark’s antique tractors.

Corn and pumpkins are the highlights October 9 through 11 and 16 through 18 as we top off the fall harvest experience. Help husk, shell and grind corn, paint a pumpkin, and enjoy the harvest food preparation demonstration.

Farmpark is a family-oriented science and cultural center devoted to agriculture, farming and country life. Farmpark helps our urban society understand how farmers raise food, fiber and other products that sustain and enhance human life.

Escape to the country to discover where your food comes from!
