MADISON, OH – The Guest Artist Series this summer at Rabbit Run Theater once again features The Madtown Jazz Expansion. This yearly series consists of concerts throughout the summer each featuring performers and vocalists familiar at Rabbit Run Theater. This is the third summer in a row this jazz ensemble has been invited to perform at the barn due to their popularity with patrons.
The Madtown Jazz Expansion is an eleven-member ensemble formed from the jazz quintet Madtown Jazz, a local favorite ensemble performing at private and public events throughout Northeast Ohio since 2017.
Many of the members of The Madtown Jazz Expansion have a long-standing relationship with Rabbit Run Theater having either played in production orchestra pits, performed in shows or taught music lessons at Rabbit Run Community Arts Association (RRCAA).
The group will perform a full concert of jazz music spanning 100 years of jazz and music history including swing, Latin, funk as well as some modern pieces in their repertoire.
The Madtown Jazz Expansion concert is Tuesday, June 20. Tickets are $15 per person and are available by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, Wednesday through Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. or on line at www.rabbitrun.org.
Guests are welcome to bring a picnic meal to enjoy on the grounds of the theater prior to the concert in the picnic pavilion or courtyards.
All concerts for the Guest Artist Series begin at 7:30 p.m. Rabbit Run Theater is located at 5648 W. Chapel Rd., Madison, OH.
Rabbit Run receives partial funding from the Ohio Arts Council, Dworken & Bernstein, Hearn Plumbing and Heating, Huffman-Mayer–Paolo Wealth Management Group.
Rabbit Run Theater also appreciates the support from the Lake County Visitors Bureau and their Arts & Culture Grant program.
Rabbit Run Theater is one of the few barn theaters still in operation and operates under the auspices of RRCAA, a non-profit organization offering year-round instruction in all the major disciplines of the fine and performing arts.
