A HISTORIC ROSCOE VILLAGE ROAD TRIP
Pack up the car, put Historic Roscoe Village into your GPS, and hit the road! Summer is the perfect time to visit Coshocton County, where you’ll find beautiful outdoor areas, unique shopping and dining, and living history in the form of Historic Roscoe Village. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the living history tour, where you’re fully immersed in the day-to-day of 1800s canal town life! Watch metalworkers in the blacksmith shop, weavers using a loom, broommakers crafting a broom, and tour a canal-era doctors office. The living history tours are available 10am-4pm daily.
As you take this self-guided tour through the village, you’ll have plenty of time to stroll through the shops along the way. From leather works to jewelry to local artisan products, you’ll surely find a great souvenir to take home. Dining is available for all palates at four restaurants in the village. Whether you’re in the mood for famous onion rings, Texas-style BBQ, gourmet hot dogs, or sandwiches and coffee, there’s no chance of going hungry.
If you’re visiting on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, take a short drive or a scenic walk over to the Monticello III Canal Boat Landing. A functional canal boat reminiscent of those used on the Ohio-Erie Canal, the Monticello III and its captain will take you on a 45-minute ride through history. The boat is pulled by horses and will take you around the basin and back to where your journey began. Canal boat rides are at 1, 2, 3, and 4pm every Friday-Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and Saturday-Sunday through mid-October.

3 Things to Know Before You Go
1. All businesses in Historic Roscoe Village are independently owned, so hours vary.
Check with individual shops and restaurants to be sure of their hours, and check social
media accounts for last-minute updates.
2. When it’s been especially dry, the Monticello III Canal Boat may not run if there’s not
enough water in the canal. Call ahead to be sure the boat will be operational during your
visit.
3. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your canal boat ride time and bring bug spray.
