Looking for a little getaway? Enjoy traveling the back roads of Ohio in search of new places? Like wine? Then you have landed at the right place. My Ohio Fun would like to share with you our second in a series of Ohio winery road trips.
On this road trip you will have the option to visit 3 wineries, 4 cheese stops, the area’s favorite chocolate maker, a farm market & bakery, learn a little about Amish & Mennonite history and visit a Giant Cuckoo Clock . Please note that the wineries and other stops are only open on select days of the week.
Things to know before you go:
- Check with each location before heading out. Open hours may vary.
- Pack a cooler for all your perishable purchases.
- Don’t forget your camera.
- We have taken the liberty of adding a few additional side stops which do not sell wine and cheese, but do sell items for your wine and cheese picnic basket.
OHIO AMISH WINE AND CHEESE TRAIL #2
There is no particular order to drive this road trip. We did however create the trip in a way that your trip would start at those establishments open earlier and finishing up at the wineries. Always continuing in a forward motion.
Wishing you a fun day of road tripping!

If this is your first time visiting the Heritage Center, you are not going to want to skip the 30-minute tour of the history of the Amish, Mennonites and Hutterites on the Behalt cyclorama. I knew a little bit about the heritage of the religion, but after the tour I have a whole new appreciation for the area and the beliefs of the Amish. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and are not afraid to answer all your questions pertaining to the Amish and Mennonite culture.
“The cyclorama begins and ends with a prominent illustration of Jesus Christ, displayed in dazzling warmth. A local Amish guide begins the tour by describing “Behalt,” the remarkable 10 foot high by 265 foot-long mural that illustrates the history of the Anabaptist religion.”
