It’s that time of year again when millions of glistening lights start to appear throughout Northern Ohio.  Below you will find some of our reader’s most favorite holiday light displays.

Light Up Lakewood

Attendees are invited to stroll Lakewood’s downtown district and visit local stores and restaurants while taking in the sights and sounds of one of Northeast Ohio’s largest holiday celebrations. Light Up Lakewood serves as a marquee event for the entire region, drawing an estimated 20,000 guests each December.

Strongsville Winter Wonderland

Lighting Ceremony – November 24, 2019 | 5:30 PM-8PM

“The annual Winter Wonderland Lighting Ceremony will kick off the holiday season in Strongsville on Nov. 24. Mayor Tom Perciak will light up the Commons, a giant Christmas tree, the gazebo and clocktower at 5:30 p.m., followed by a spectacular holiday fireworks show and the arrival of Santa, who will meet with kids in his Sparkle Palace. There will also be costumed characters, live reindeer, free hot cocoa and snacks, and horse-drawn carriage rides to the Strongsville Historical Village next door, which will also be decked out for the holidays. The event is free and open to everyone.”

Firelands Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights is a wonderful, family-oriented, Christmas light display that involves over 30 local, non-profit organizations. Take a drive along Sawmill Creek Dr. to experience the lights and meet Santa!

Upper’s Winter Fantasy of Lights

“Since 1997, Harrison Smith Park, just east of downtown Upper Sandusky, is transformed into a fabulous light show for the month of December. Lorain County Metroparks Holiday Lights

*Tram Rides: Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday ONLY, 5:30-8:30pm, available for both the main and the train trail. Train trail will be OPEN to pedestrians. Free, weather permitting.
*Dec 24th (special viewing hours: 5:30pm-8:00pm) main walking trail ONLY, the Visitor Center will be closed and there will be NO train or tram rides.

Admission is FREE, but we are asking everyone to bring one nonperishable food item that will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. Also inside, for a small fee, are various refreshments to warm you up courtesy of Friends of Metro Parks.





Toledo Zoo’s Lights Before Christmas
