It’s that time of year again when millions of glistening lights start to appear throughout Northern Ohio.  Below you will find some of our reader’s most favorite holiday light displays.

Experience over 70 displays on Lakeshore Park’s 54 acres of rolling hills and majestic Lake Erie backdrop. This holiday light attraction with some displays “as big as a truck”, is great for creating family memories and family fun. Winterfest Public Square

Non-commercial vehicles can go inside the gates Dec. 8, Dec 15 and Dec 22, 2017. Displays along Noble Road can be seen from Dec. 1 to Jan. 1 by car or on foot.

Light Up Lakewood

Description: It’s a most joyous of Lakewood traditions and it’s back in Downtown Lakewood for an 11th consecutive year. The spirit of the season will come to life with holiday cheer when Light Up Lakewood 2017 takes place on Saturday, December 2.

Sponsored by First Federal Lakewood and presented by LakewoodAlive, Light Up Lakewood celebrates the season and the richness of our city’s vibrancy. This free, family-friendly event in Downtown Lakewood features a holiday parade, lighting ceremony, winter fireworks, live music, ice carvings, hot chocolate, food trucks, children’s games and much more.

Strongsville Winter Wonderland

Lighting Ceremony – November 19, 2017 | 5:30 PM-8PM
The City Commons will light up at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19 at the annual Winter Wonderland lighting celebration. Mayor Tom Perciak will kick off the Christmas season in Strongsville by lighting up the Commons, gazebo, clocktower and giant Christmas tree, followed by a spectacular holiday fireworks display. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in town to greet children in their “Crystal Palace.” There will also be live reindeer, horse-drawn carriage rides, an ice carver, free hot chocolate and snacks, and costumed characters.

Upper’s Winter Fantasy of Lights

Since 1997, Harrison Smith Park, just east of downtown Upper Sandusky, is transformed into a fabulous light show for the month of December. Through the volunteer efforts of many individuals, organizations and businesses, the 33 acres of the park are ablaze with millions of lights and a myriad of unique light displays along the drive through the park.

Country Lights – Lake Metroparks Farmpark

Build a wooden toy in Santa’s Workshop, enjoy a wagon ride through thousands of lights; visit Santa in his sleigh, wander through model train and old fashioned toy displays; visit with Farmpark animals, and enjoy special presentations. Dinner and snacks available in the Café; no reservations required. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Magic of Lights

Magic of Lights is a dazzling 1+ mile drive-through holiday light show featuring more than 400 spectacular displays using the latest LED technology and digital animations. Experience Magic of Lights from the comfort of your own car as you drive through Northeast Ohio’s favorite family annual holiday tradition.  A portion of the proceeds from Magic of Lights will benefit UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s.

In addition to the nightly Magic of Lights event, there will be other holiday activities at Victory Park Ohio this year including the Santa Claus Run on December 9 and the opportunity to host private holiday parties on-site. 

Lorain County Metroparks Holiday Lights

Lights on the Lake
Dates: November 27-December 30, 2017
Location: Lakeview Park, 1800 West Erie Ave., Lorain
Cost: Free
Drive through Lakeview Park to see the light displays. The lights will be on every night beginning November 25 through the end of December. Then join us inside the Sunset Terrace at Lakeview for some hot chocolate, cookie decorating, a craft and a photo opportunity with Santa! Be sure to bring your own camera!

Toledo Zoo’s Lights Before Christmas
Dates:  November 17-December 31, 2017
Times: Sun-Thurs 3-8 pm, Fri-Sat 3-9 pm (Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day)

Visitors enjoy displays containing millions of lights and many other holiday-themed attractions. Holiday Light Display – Boardman Park

Winter Celebration Nights

During Saturdays in December, Winter Celebration at Fellows Riverside Gardens is open late until 7 pm. Experience the outdoor light display, near the Davis Center, and the Toy Workshop and Reindeer Games. Plus, find that perfect gift at the Shop in the Gardens and savor refreshments available for purchase in the Garden Café.

Canton Parks Holiday Light Display
The Annual Holiday Light Display at Stadium Park has been part of the community for over 15 years. The light display is FREE and open to the public with an enjoyable drive through stadium Park. The lights are on from approximately 5pm to 11pm.

Christmas at Clay’s 2017
