Plan a romantic weekend getaway in Ohio Amish Country.

Looking for a Romantic Getaway?  Enjoy exploring the backroads of Ohio?

This past summer while attending a conference in Ohio Amish Country, I had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy an evening at one of the Villas at Donna’s Premier Lodging in Berlin, Ohio. The Villa is located in the heart of Ohio’s largest Amish settlement and within walking distance of quaint shopping and great restaurants.

After checking-in, I was greeted by their staff who immediately offered me a refreshment from their wonderful coffee bar, as well as a snack. Treats included bakery, fresh fruit, and various refreshments. My favorite was the iced coffee! Not only did I enjoy the coffee, but I asked them where they had found such adorable pitchers. Of course the answer was where everyone finds the coolest home merchandise in Amish country, Lehman’s Hardware Store. (Note to self: Make sure to stop at Lehman’s)

I grabbed my coffee and set off to enjoy a few relaxing hours in my Villa before heading out to my conference. The Villa was located just around the corner from the main office. I was able to pull right up to my door and unload my suitcase. It happened to be raining that day, so being able to pull up to my Villa was a great plus, indeed!

The Villa was spacious and included a dinette area with sink, microwave, and refrigerator. Coffee and tea were also available. A couch and television, as well as a full bathroom was located on the first floor. Just outside the kitchen area was a patio, that included a patio set and a grill.  Upstairs in the loft, was a queen-size bed, television, and a heart-shaped jacuzzi. Wi-fi and cable was also included.

Once morning arrived a hot country breakfast was waiting for me. The night before, I had the opportunity to select a breakfast from their menu. You can enjoy your breakfast either in the breakfast area or you can have it delivered to your room. Having enjoyed a wonderful night on a very comfortable mattress, I was not ready to leave my accommodations, so I opted for the latter. I selected the Strata Egg Bake. Included with my bake was one side dish and a beverage. The strata arrived hot, tasty and delicious. If Strata is not your selection, this B&B offers a selection of made to order omelets, Amish baked oatmeal, breakfast enchiladas, Belgian waffles, pancakes, and ala cart sides.

Attention to detail can be seen everywhere, from the moment you arrive to when you leave.  The staff is always available to answer your questions, and to make sure your stay is pleasant.

Local maps and brochures of Holmes County and surrounding Amish country are available at the office.   Staff can assist you with any questions you may have about the local area.

If you’re looking for a romantic getaway. I would suggest looking into reserving one of the Villas. The Villa rent is approximately $225 a night for weekends. Specials are offered and premium rates do apply for special events. For exact pricing information click here. The Villa includes all the amenities needed for a romantic getaway.

Donna’s Premier Lodging availability also includes chalets, cedar cabins, cottages, and villas.
