Gather around the Christmas tree at Gazebo Island for the traditional tree lighting ceremony.
Enjoy activities, entertainment, food, and shopping in over 30 downtown small businesses and restaurants. Celebrate the holidays with your friends and family in downtown Wadsworth!

3. ENCORE HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA

Medina High School’s award-winning Encore Entertainment Company show choir, including the group’s singers, band, and crew, invites the Medina community to the Encore Holiday Extravaganza.

The musical portion of the Encore Holiday Extravaganza, beginning at 7 pm, includes singing and dancing to medleys of many holiday musical favorites as well as several small group performances and sing-alongs for the entire family. The performance is an expanded version of the holiday show typically seen by many hundreds of students and adults in the Medina community each year.

Before the performance, beginning at 6 pm, younger audience members will enjoy holiday crafts, games, stories, cookies, and a chance to take pictures with Santa Claus. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend both the activity portion and the musical performance. The Encore Holiday Extravaganza welcomes audience members of all ages, especially those who may be too young to attend other performances.

6. CYNTHIA CIOFFARI AND THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON BASSONAROOS

Date: December 6, 2023
Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm

Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) and the Medina County District Library present Akron-based bassoonist Cynthia Cioffari and the University of Akron BassoonaRoos, in a lively performance of holiday favorites, including selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas and jazz-inspired arrangements.

The program is free, but registration is recommended at www.ormaco.org.

7. TWILIGHT HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE AT THE MCDOWELL-PHILLIPS HOUSE MUSEUM 

Dates: December 9, 17 & 27, 2023
Times: Saturday, December 9th, our Twilight Tour from 4pm – 7pm
Sunday December 17th from 1pm – 4pm and Wednesday, December 27th from 1pm – 4pm
Location: 205 S. Prospect Street, Medina, OH

The last tour starts 30 minutes before close. The Museum will be decorated in the holiday spirit! Admission rates apply. (Admission donation prices are $10 for Adults, $9 for Seniors, $7 for Youth 7 to 18 years and under 7 is free with a hand-holding adult. MCHS members receive a discount on admission).

Christmas in the Valley
8. CHRISTMAS IN THE VALLEY

Sidewalk Prophets 2023

9. SIDEWALK PROPHETS GREAT BIG FAMILY CHRISTMAS

Join Dove Award winning band Sidewalk Prophet’s as they welcome you out from the cold of winter, and into the warmth of the Great Big Family Room. The Great Big Family Christmas is all about making Christmas memories, and most importantly celebrating the birth of Christ.

The night features an joy-filled Christmas concert featuring Sidewalk Prophet’s original Christmas music, as well as, the hit songs that you know and love. In addition to the music, this night is full of surprises, and maybe some surprise gifts too!

To cap things off, the tour ends each night by raising funds for a local charity or individual in need and has a goal of giving away over 1 million dollars to those in need within the next 10 years.

Explore the Charming Square of Medina Ohio

If you have never taken a road trip to the picturesque town of Medina, which was originally part of the Connecticut Western Reserve area, then you are truly missing the opportunity to explore one of Ohio’s most charming squares. A definite Norman Rockwell painting. The county courthouse towers over one side of the square and the rest of the square is surrounded by unique shops and eateries that offer an afternoon of shopping and exploring around this historic square.
