Total Eclipse 2024 – Ohio

On April 8, 2024, Ohio will be in the viewing path to experience a total solar eclipse. (Weather permitting.)  Ohio is one of 13 states in the path of totality.

Anyone who wants to view the solar eclipse should wear special eye protection, as looking directly in at the sun can cause damage and blindness.

At no time anywhere in Ohio will it be safe to observe the sun directly!

TOTAL ECLIPSE WINE TRAIL PARTICIPATING WINERIES & APPETIZERS

The Total Eclipse Wine Trail takes place in the Grand River Valley in celebration and anticipation of the Total Eclipse taking place on Monday, April 8th.

$10 per person at each location.

Eclipse-themed appetizers paired with wine samples at fourteen unique wineries! The Grand River Valley is in the totality viewing area. Many wineries are releasing new limited-edition wines for the eclipse.

Join us at Lake Metroparks Farmpark on April 8 for a FREE day filled with excitement leading up to the Total Solar Eclipse! The event, presented by Sylvan Learning of Mentor, will feature hands-on experiments, interactive activities, music, planetarium shows and more to build your anticipation to the total solar eclipse. For about four minutes in mid-afternoon, the day will darken into night, stars will emerge and animals will think dusk has fallen early. Solar eclipse viewing glasses will be provided for guests in attendance while supplies last. Parking is limited. Food vendors will be on site. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy. Weather in April in Northeast Ohio is unpredictable, so please dress accordingly.
