TWO MUST-STOP BISTROS IN OHIO’S AMISH COUNTRY.
🍔 Hungry for your next road-trip stop?
A good road trip deserves a memorable meal—and these two bistros belong on your Ohio Amish Country itinerary. Located in Ohio’s Foothills, Blue Moon Bistro in Holmesville and Rebecca’s Bistro in Walnut Creek offer two delicious reasons to pull over and stay awhile. Many Ohio Amish Country travelers head straight for the local Amish buffets or Boyd & Wurthmann’s in Berlin. Those familiar favorites have company: here are two more stops worth making room for.

First stop: Blue Moon Bistro, about 4.5 miles north of Millersburg on State Route 83. Established in 2021, this bistro makes an easy meal stop, whether you’re starting the day with breakfast or winding down over dinner. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is closed Sundays.

The menu delivers the diner-style favorites road trippers crave: traditional breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, and more. Feeling adventurous? The Blue Moon Donut Burger pairs a burger with American cheese and bacon on a grilled glazed donut. On my visit, I went with Shymann’s Favorite—a burger piled with bacon, grilled red onions, BBQ sauce, and American and Swiss cheeses on a grilled brioche bun. It was a tasty choice and a satisfying break from the road.
Make the drive part of the outing. The trip to Blue Moon is an opportunity to explore the backroads and take in more of Ohio’s foothill views. A scenic drive with a good meal along the way? That’s my kind of road trip.

Next stop: Rebecca’s Bistro in Walnut Creek. If you’d rather stay closer to Berlin and the main Ohio Amish Country tourist hub, put this family-run spot on your must-stop list. It’s a place to slow down and enjoy breakfast or lunch before heading out for more exploring.
Serving guests since 2002, Rebecca’s has the welcoming appeal of a family-run diner. Parking can take a little patience at peak times, but there’s plenty across the street. The bistro is open Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for breakfast and lunch, and is closed Sundays.
Rebecca and her husband, Jim, opened the bistro in 2002 inside a historic 1800s log cabin in Walnut Creek, Ohio. Rebecca sadly passed away in 2026, and today her family continues to operate the bistro, carrying on the place they built together.

During peak season, limited indoor and outdoor seating can mean a longer wait, so leave a little breathing room in your itinerary. For me, the food is worth it. The Apple Pecan Blue Salad is delicious, the quiches are favorites, and you can’t go wrong with one of the homemade soups. As a quiche lover, I sometimes order an extra slice to go and enjoy it the next day. My tip: reheat it in the oven rather than the microwave to keep the crust flaky.

On your next drive through Ohio’s Foothills, save time for more than the scenery. Whether you’re craving a hearty burger at Blue Moon or quiche and homemade soup at Rebecca’s, these two bistros give you a delicious reason to stop, settle in, and enjoy the journey.
Keep on exploring!
