MADISON, OH – The last main stage production for the summer at Rabbit Run Theater is “The World Goes ‘Round” opening Aug. 14 through Aug. 29.

Created by composing duo John Kander and Fred Ebb, “The World Goes ‘Round” is a musical revue filled with Tony Award winning songs.

Filled with humor, romance, drama and non-stop singing, this revue is a celebration of life and the fighting spirit that keeps us all going.

Directing the production is James Penca. Penca cut his teeth at Rabbit Run Theater over 15 years ago having performed in numerous productions in the early 2000’s including “Titanic, the Musical”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra.

Since Penca’s last show at the barn in 2010, he graduated from the music theatre program at Baldwin Wallace University and spent the next 13 years performing all over the country from Great Lakes Theatre in Cleveland, to Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut, to the Weston Playhouse in Vermont, to countless venues in New York City and Los Angeles.

He entertained international audiences onboard cruise ships sailing out of ports in over 30 countries. In addition to performing, Penca has also written and directed musicals and cabarets on various stages.

“It’s hard to put into words what it means to return home to the barn”, says Penca. “You just hope after 16 years away, you can still make your family and friends proud, but with performers this good and arguably the best musical theatre material ever written, I can rest easy knowing audiences are going to love “The World Goes ‘Round”.

Musical direction is provided by Jonathan Gordon. who also serves as the president of the board of directors for RRCAA. Gordon has musically directed a number of musicals at Rabbit Run over the past few years.

Serving as the musical’s choreographer is Haley Luster. She has a long association with Rabbit Run Theater having performed in many productions.

“The World Goes ‘Round” is rated for general audiences.

Tickets for all performances are available by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, Wednesday through Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. or online at www.rabbitrun.org. Tickets are $30, adult; $28, senior and student; and $15 for youth 12 and under. For group packages and rates call 440-428-5913.

Guests are welcome to bring a picnic meal to enjoy on the grounds of the theater prior to a show in the picnic pavilion or courtyards.

While taking in a performance of “The World Goes ‘Round”, patrons may purchase a raffle ticket for Bunny Bucks Cash Raffle, Rabbit Run Community Arts Association’s (RRCAA)’s annual fundraiser.

The Grand Prize is $10,000; second place prize is $4,000, and the third-place prize is $1,000. Additional Bonus Prizes, each with a value of at least $50, are being awarded weekly through Aug. 25.

Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $50 each. The cash prizes will be announced Aug. 30. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, the RRCAA office at 440-428-5913 or online at rabbitrun.org.

All shows for “The World Goes ‘Round” begin at 7:30 p.m. Rabbit Run Theater is located at 5648 W. Chapel Rd., Madison, OH.

Rabbit Run Theater is one of the few barn theaters still in operation and operates under the auspices of RRCAA, a non-profit organization offering year-round instruction in all the major disciplines of the fine and performing arts.
