FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – “Stepping Out” opens at Rabbit Run Theater June 19
MADISON, OH – The comedy “Stepping Out” by Richard Harris opens June 19 at Rabbit Run Theater.
“Stepping Out” is a comedy about the attempts of some working class amateurs to overcome their inhibitions and left feet in a low-rent dance studio in North London. Mavis, a former professional chorus girl tries her hardest to teach the bumbling amateurs some dance skills for an upcoming recital.
Before the dancing begins Mavis must mediate the minor dramas that erupt among this motley but loveable crew on their way to triumph at the recital. Liza Minnelli starred as Mavis in the popular 1991 film.
The show is directed by Ann Hedger, who has directed and performed in numerous productions at Rabbit Run Theater since the 1980’s. Hedger is currently the programming coordinator at The Fine Arts Association in Willoughby and was the creator/director of their One Act Festivals which ran for 23 years.
Playing the lead role of the dance instructor, Mavis, is Evie Koh who is no stranger on the Rabbit Run stage having performed in numerous productions over the last 20 years.
“Stepping Out” opens June 19 and runs through July 3 and is rated for general audiences.
Tickets for all performances are available by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, Wednesday through Sunday, 3 to 7 p.m. or online at www.rabbitrun.org. Tickets are $30, adult; $28, senior and student; and $15 for youth 12 and under. For group packages and rates call 440-428-5913.
Guests are welcome to bring a picnic meal to enjoy on the grounds of the theater prior to a show in the picnic pavilion or courtyards.
While taking in a performance of “Stepping Out”, patrons may purchase a raffle ticket for Bunny Bucks Cash Raffle, Rabbit Run Community Arts Association’s (RRCAA)’s annual fundraiser. The Grand Prize is $10,000; second place prize is $4,000, and the third-place prize is $1,000. Additional Bonus Prizes, each with a value of at least $50, are being awarded weekly through Aug. 25.
Only 1,000 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $50 each. The cash prizes will be announced Aug. 29. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 440-428-7092, the RRCAA office at 440-428-5913 or online at rabbitrun.org.
