SHOP MAIN STREET

ANN’S PASTRY SHOP
121 High Street, Wadsworth, OH 44281
annspastry.com
Growing up my grandmother would send my grandfather to Ann’s to pick up a few loaves of their Vienna bread. It was always such a treat to enjoy a warm slice of bread with butter slathered on top. All the grandkids also knew that soon we would also be treated to homemade egg noodles and Vienna breadcrumbs. A simple dish that all of us could not wait to enjoy. My grandmother would first prepare her egg noodles, then in a cast iron skillet with a little butter and lard, she would tear slices of the bread and fry them, then incorporate them into the noodles. To this day whenever I stop in at Ann’s, I always grab a loaf of their Vienna bread and remember my grandmother.
Although Ann’s was sold a few years back to new owners, the Vienna bread making has continued. When you visit make sure you purchase one of their famous cream sticks or other treats. You can’t go wrong with any of them. You can even grab a cup of java to enjoy along with your selection. This is one little shop you do not want to miss when visiting Downtown Wadsworth.

Explore the charming square of Medina, Ohio.
If you have never taken a road trip to the picturesque town of Medina, which was originally part of the Connecticut Western Reserve area, then you are truly missing the opportunity to explore one of Ohio’s most charming squares. A definite Norman Rockwell painting. The county courthouse towers over one side of the square and the rest of the square is surrounded by mom and pop shops that offer an afternoon of shopping and exploring.
